The Information Centre of the National Food Safety Authority published in its 34th report that during the period from September 7 to 13, the Department of Control of Packing Stations and Centres made 35 visits and issued 357 agricultural export permits.

The General Administration of Factories Control carried out 40 supervisory inspections of food factories nationwide in cooperation with the Industrial Development Authority.

Beans topped the list of exports at 15,000 tonnes, followed by sweet potatoes at 11,000 tonnes and onions at 10,000.

The number of exported vegetables reached 64 at an amount of 40,000.

Mango was in the lead with 14,000 tonnes, and pomegranate 7,000 tonnes, followed by strawberry at 6,000 tonnes.

Sudan, Libya, Spain, and Saudi Arabia were the biggest customers for Egyptian products out of 152 importers.

The Strategic Commodities Department carried out 79 inspection visits to wheat storage sites all over Egypt.

The General Administration for Registration and Licensing of Private Food registered 27 products, six companies, examined 815 new products, and issued 13 free sell certificates.

Complaints Management carried out 858 inspection campaigns to ensure the safety of food in a number of governorates.

Control of Commercial Chains has conducted 57 commissariats to ensure that their branches meet the requirements of food safety.

770 food establishments were registered, and 381 establishments met the requirements during last week.

The Warehouse Control Department implemented 32 monitoring missions in a number of governorates.

For school feeding stores, 3 school feeding warehouses have been inspected in Qena and Sohag governorates.

The General Department of Slaughterhouses conducted 17 inspection visits to poultry and meat slaughterhouses, as well as 68 visits to intestinal factories, in addition to issuing 26 permissions for exports to the EU.

According to NFSA’s requirements, the General Department of Slaughterhouses participated in receiving Mansoura and Dikirnis slaughterhouses in Mansoura governorate.

The National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), as part of its role, has launched extensive inspection campaigns to ensure food safety. This came in line with directives from NFSA chairman Dr. Tareq el-Houby to tighten the control on food establishments in a number of governorates.
