Egypt’s Minister of the Public Business Sector Engineer Mohamed Shimi said that all new machines have been installed in the “Spinning 1” factory, which is the largest spinning factory in the world, after the completion of construction work.
The factory’s experimental operation will start within the upcoming period, he added during an inspection tour of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla el Kubra, affiliated with the Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Clothing Holding Company.
In a statement by the ministry on Sunday, the minister said that the ”Spinning 1″ factory is considered one of the biggest factories established on a total area of 62,000 meters and with a target production capacity of about 30 tons of yarn per day.
The minister, meanwhile, issued directives to accelerate completion rates and intensify work to finalize the project.
For his part, Gharbiya Governor Ashraf el Gendy affirmed the State’s keenness on enhancing the spinning and weaving sector and raising its competitive capabilities in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy, meeting the needs of the local market and increasing exports.
