Egypt mediates between the two parties to the Gaza conflict in line with its national security and in a way that preserves the rights of the Palestinian people, a high-level source was quoted by Al Qahera News channel as saying.
The Egyptian security delegation is doing its utmost to achieve a degree of accord between the two parties and is coordinating its efforts with partners in Qatar and the United States, the source said, according to the channel as reported by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
Egypt has reasserted to all parties concerned that it does not accept any Israeli presence at the Rafah crossing or the Philadelphi Corridor, the source added.
