Assiut Governor Hisham Abu al-Nasr received Dr. Tareq El-Houby, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), during his inspection visit to the headquarter of the branch of the authority in the governorate, in the presence of MP Yasser Omar, Chairman of the Plan and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, and Amr Abou el-Enein, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Assiut and Sohag Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Khaled Abu al-Wafa.
The meeting discussed ways of coordinating and co-operating between NFSA and Assiut Governorate with regard to the activation of the food safety system, as well as coordination with the relevant authorities to achieve constructive integration and co-operation in order to facilitate all procedures for the control and inspection of all food products.
El-Houby inspected NFSA’s branch, where he met with the employees and checked the progress and regularity of the work.
Also, he listened to their proposals and stressed the need to increase the effort to provide healthy and safe food to citizens.
He confirmed NFSA’s desire to improve the efficiency of its inspectors by holding training courses to improve the efficiency of the human component and to inform them of the latest methods of control and inspection of food products, praising the outstanding role played by all employees of the authority.
