President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has been working hard to steer his country towards safe shores, despite growing regional tensions and unrest.
Egypt shares borders with two countries that are being torn apart by civil wars and a territory that is being devastated from beginning to end by the Israeli war machine.
Civil war continues to ravage Sudan and rage on in Libya. The Gaza Strip, which shares borders with Sinai, also suffers relentless Israeli attacks. This puts a lot on Egypt’s plate.
Despite all this gloom, Egypt has succeeded in preventing conflicts from bordering countries from seeping out of these countries and into its own territory, thanks to President Sisi’s vision. The Egyptian leader deals with this regional situation wisely and cautiously.
The global market was severely affected by the repercussions of Covid-19 and the subsequent Russian-Ukrainian war.
Nevertheless, Egypt has succeeded in maintaining the stability of its economy and providing the necessary support to citizens, even under these exceptional circumstances.
The Ukraine war has caused strategic shifts in international relations. Egypt’s leadership managed, however, to maintain the stability of its foreign policy and relations with various international parties, strengthening its position as an international political powerhouse.
Egypt adopts a balanced stance in the face of current international political divisions and tensions. This stance focuses on active mediation between contending parties.
In doing this, Cairo is keen to maintain the independence of its foreign policy, protect its national interests and enhance its regional and international standing.
Egypt succeeded in avoiding being drawn into regional conflicts, using its vast reservoir of political wisdom and shrewdness. This helped it maintain strong relations with all parties.
Cairo fully supports all endeavours aimed at resolving regional crises, while adhering to the principles of neutrality, peace and international co-operation.
It also maintains its regional and international networks, and strengthens its pivotal position and role for the benefit of its people, the region, and the world.
In a nutshell, the leadership of President Sisi is resolved to continue the march of development, despite the complex nature of the challenges posed by current regional and international tensions.
