President of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Assoumi underlined the parliament’s keenness on enhancing Arab-African ties in various domains.
He made the remarks while participating as the honourary guest of the general assembly of the Pan-African Parliament in Johannesburg at an invitation from President of Pan-African Parliament Fortune Charumbira.
Assoumi had talks with his African counterpart and members of the African parliament on means of promoting Arab-African relations.
For his part, Charumbira said Assoumi’s visit to the Pan-African Parliament represents a turning point in Arab-African parliamentary relations.
Assoumi and Charumbira agreed on the importance of continued coordination and holding joint meetings to further bilateral ties for the best interests of Arab and African people.
