The Decent Life Foundation (DLF) sent a plane loaded with humanitarian aid and 50 tons of dry foodstuffs to Aswan governorate on Wednesday.

The move came in response to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to provide good services to the public and in co-operation with the Egyptian Food Bank and the national air carrier, EgyptAir.

The DLF’s team distributed 5,000 food boxes to the neediest villages in Aswan.

This step was part of the DLF’s efforts to help people in urgent need in Upper Egypt and across the governorates nationwide.

The initiative was first launched in 2019 by President Sisi, who tasked the Ministry of Social Solidarity with developing Egypt’s poorest 1,000 villages.

In December 2020, the president expanded the initiative to include another 4,500 villages within the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The foundation regularly sends food and medical convoys to various governorates to help needy citizens nationwide.

In November, the DLF sent aid convoys to Aswan to help citizens affected by heavy rain and flooding that hit the southern Egyptian governorate and caused the collapse of tens of homes and the death of three citizens.
