The activities of an Egyptian-French joint maritime drill dubbed “Cleopatra 2021”, which will continue for several days in the territorial waters of the northern fleet’s theater range in the Mediterranean, have kicked off.
The drill comes as part of supporting distinguished relations, enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences between the armed forces of both Egypt and France.
Many training activities are planned to be implemented to refine the skills of commanders and officers and exchange experiences between the Egyptian and French sides as well as training on securing shipping lines against various threats.
The training also aims to achieve harmony between the participating elements, unify operational concepts and speed up the implementation of the planned tasks.
The training comes as part of the joint training plan for the armed forces with friendly and brotherly countries to enhance the prospects for military cooperation and the exchange of training experiences in a way that contributes to getting acquainted with the latest systems and methods of maritime combat.
