Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity and chairperson of Nasser Social Bank (NSB) Nivine El Kabbag has launched a project for empowering female community leaders and engaging them in marketing NSB products.
As the only social bank in Egypt, NSB adopts the noble mission of working for local economic and community development, as it has been established in fulfillment of a social and national responsibility, to stimulate the banking and investment sector and broaden the base of social solidarity, the minister said in press statements.
Driven also by its mission to empower women, especially in the areas with no access to facilitated banking services, the ministry has launched the project for empowering female leaders through financial inclusion, and engaging them in marketing NSB products, which would help unleash their potential and promote their labor market engagement, Kabbag added.
She thanked President Abdel Fattah for approving an increase in the number of female community leaders from 2,500 to 15,000 women, which demonstrates the political leadership’s belief in the importance of citizen-building and investment in human capital.
Deputy Chairperson of NSB Mohamed Abdel Fadil attended the launch ceremony, along a host of senior officials from the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
