WASHINGTON – Regional Spokesman for the US Department of State Samuel Werberg has stressed that his country has continuous contact and coordination with Cairo and Doha to reach a truce in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to Nile News TV channel Saturday, he reiterated that Egypt has been always playing an essential role since the conflict began in Gaza.
Cairo exerts great efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, he said, noting that the Unites States coordinates with several countries, particularly Egypt, to discuss the release of hostages and prevent expanding the conflict in the region.
Werberg called on Israel to take strict, punitive measures against Israeli settlers who practice violence against innocent Palestinians in the West Bank.
