Egypt’s ambassador to Italy Bassam Radi on Sunday opened the Egyptian pavilion, organised by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, at the annual international exhibition in Milan, in the presence of Italian Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè.
Radi said that the Milan exhibition is considered one of the largest tourism exhibitions in the world and provides an opportunity to promote Egyptian tourism products and destinations to Italian tourists.
The ambassador added that the Egyptian participation in the exhibition this year comes within the framework of the Egypt’s interest in continuous communication with Italian tour operators to showcase the tourism capabilities of the Egyptian tourist destination, in addition to presenting the marketing strategy for the upcoming summer tourism season, as the current winter tourism season was affected by the events in the region.
He also added that the Italian market is one of the most important markets exporting tourism to Egypt, in addition to the multiplicity and diversity of Egyptian tourist destinations and experiences that Italian tourists prefer, including cultural and beach tourism in Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Mersa Alam, Sharm el-Sheikh, Mersa Matrouh, Siwa and other cities.
The Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition witnessed a large turnout from visitors, major Italian tour operators and airline companies transporting Italian tourism to Egypt.
