Egyptian Labour Minister Hassan Shehata announced that Sunday, January 7, is a paid holiday on the occasion of Christmas for the employees of the private sector companies that come under regulations of labour law no.12 of 2003.
In a statement on Tuesday, Shehata said that this comes in light of a decision no. 5004 of prime minister in 2023 on determining the Christmas holidays in the ministries and governmental bodies in addition to private and public sectors.
Shehata greeted the Copts on Xmas, wishing Egypt more progress and prosperity under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
