GAZA – The Ministry of Health in Gaza updated the death toll from the ruthless Israeli war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, saying the number of the dead has reached 18,787 and the wounded hit 50,897.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qoudra, said according to MENA that the Israeli occupation forces committed 18 massacres in many parts of the Palestinian enclave during Thursday alone.

He added that 179 martyrs and 303 injured people were moved to hospitals in the past few hours, noting that a significant number of victims are still under the rubble and lying in the streets.

He pointed out that the occupation’s aggression against Gaza’s medical sector led to the martyrdom of 300 healthcare personnel, the destruction of 102 ambulances, the targeting 138 health facilities, and the evacuation of 22 hospitals and 52 health centers.

He announced the depletion of the stock of vaccines for children in the Gaza Strip, urging all relevant parties to work immediately to replenish it to avert a health disaster affecting newborns.

He described the health and humanitarian situation in shelters and housing areas as unbearable and unimaginable, warning that tens of thousands of Palestinians could die due to the spread of epidemics, infectious diseases, poor nutrition, lack of clean drinking water, sanitation and personal hygiene, and the absence of available health services for them.

He stated that health teams identified 327,000 cases infected with infectious diseases, expecting that the actual numbers are much higher.

The spokesman called on international institutions to provide life-saving medicines and medical supplies, medical teams and fuel to save the population in the war-devastated Gaza Strip.
