Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that co-operation with the Nile basin countries is an important constant of the joint Egyptian-African action especially in light of Egypt’s possession of human potentials, technical expertise and various institutions in the field of water resources, among others, that would contribute to several joint development projects of joint benefits to Africa.
This came during Sisi’s meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel and Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Swelim.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said Sisi reviewed during the meeting the latest developments in co-operation activities in the field of irrigation and water resources with the Nile basin states especially the issues of rain water storage system, the potable underground water stations, purification of water canals, protection against flooding risks as well as establishment of river docks.
