Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi met with Dr Kamal Darwish, chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Youth and Sports champions at ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss ways to develop Olympic talent.
The Olympic talent project will run until 2036 with more participants and scientific mechanisms to discover and nurture talented sportspeople for national teams.
The meeting re-affirmed the government’s commitment to empowering youth, encouraging them to go for international sports events.
Egypt is rich in sports, scientific and human resources, the minister said, adding that talent spotting will be in co-operation with the Ministry of Education in schools nationwide.
Preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics are underway, Sobhi said.
