Zamalek succeeded in qualifying for the Egypt Cup final after winning 4-3 in penalty kicks against Pyramids FC.
The match ended in regular and extra time with a score of 3-3.
Fiston Mayili scored Pyramids’ first goal in the 5th minute, while Nabil Dunga equalized for Zamalek in the 93rd minute then Mostafa Fathi returned to lead Pyramids in the 92nd minute, and Samson Akinola tied again for the White Castle.
In the 108th minute, Mohamed Hamdy scored the third goal for Pyramids, but Nasser Mansi rebounded with a header and scored the third equalizing goal for Zamalek.
In the penalty shootout, Mohamed Ashraf Rouqa missed a penalty for Zamalek, while the duo Ahmed Sami and Mostafa Fathi missed two strikes for Pyramids, ending in favor of the White Castle with a score of 4-3.
With this result, Zamalek qualifies for the Egypt Cup final for last season 2022-2023, and faces its traditional rival, Al-Ahly.
