EgyptAir, the national carrier of Egypt, launched a new flight between Cairo and Jakarta, Indonesia on Tuesday. The flight, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, carried 234 passengers. The flight will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Yahya Zakaria, chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company, said that the launch of the Cairo-Jakarta flight meets the needs of many customers on both sides, especially in light of the strong relations between the two countries. He added that the Asian market is a high-traffic market that EgyptAir hopes to be successful in, especially in light of the rising number of flights and the improvement in Asian tourism to Egypt.
Mohamed El-Moussy, chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, said that the company is committed to studying the needs and expectations of its customers, which will help to boost air traffic to tourist destinations and achieve many economic goals for the Egyptian state.
The launch of the Cairo-Jakarta flight is a significant step in EgyptAir’s expansion plans. The company is also planning to launch new flights to other Asian destinations in the near future.
