Sisi stresses Egypt’s keenness to achieve just, comprehensive peace in ME based on two-state solution 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Cairo- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid in Cairo on Thursday.

 

The meeting discussed bilateral relations, regional and international issues of common concern, foremost of which was the Palestinian cause.

 

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, General Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel, Israeli Foreign Ministry Director Alon Ushpiz, the Ministry Foreign Affairs Advisor and International Media Spokesperson Yair Zivan, and Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Amira Oron, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

 

During the meeting, President Sisi stressed that Egypt would carry on with its efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on a two-state solution and the terms of reference of the international legitimacy.

 

The objective is to realise regional security and stability, and open up fresh prospects for co-operation and development for all peoples of the region, Radi added.

 

President Sisi also referred to Egypt’s efforts for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. He added that Egypt will continue its endeavours to prevent the eruption of tension between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
