Talks to boost archaeological ties between Egypt, Armenia

Tourism and antiquities co-operation between Egypt and Armenia was on the agenda of an official meeting on Sunday.

 

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani told Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Hrachya Poladyan that Egypt was looking forward to increasing co-operation with Armenia in various fields and offering facilities to promote tourism between the two countries.

 

Discussions covered the possibility of holding a meeting between major tour operators of both countries soon to discuss means of increasing tourist numbers and flights between Cairo and Yerevan.

 

The two officials also discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Yerevan State University to co-operate in archaeological work.
