CAIRO – Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and acting health and population minister, revealed Sunday the arrival of 3.890 mln doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine at Cairo airport.

 

A statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Population said the vaccine shipment arrived in Egypt through COVAX mechanism in cooperation with, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance‏, to provide vaccines for citizens.

 

The minister added that the state managed to provide in record time different kinds of vaccines including Sinovac-CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson , Pfizer and Moderna.

 

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is authorized for emergency use and is available under the EUA as a two-dose primary series in individuals 5 years of age and older, as a third primary series dose for individuals 12 years of age and older who have been determined to have certain kinds of immunocompromise, and as a single booster dose in people 18 years of age and older.
