CAIRO – Zimbabwe’s representative stressed his country’s full commitment to the provisions of the COMESA free trade agreement, thanking President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for inviting his country to attend the COMESA summit.

Delivering his speech at the 21st COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit on Tuesday, he said Zimbabwe is committed to improving its business climate across borders and encouraging the private sector to make use of the opportunities offered by COMESA.
The representative expressed the apology of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa for not being able to attend the summit, lauding efforts exerted to enhance regional integration despite the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
He affirmed the necessity of cooperation among COMESA member states to avoid the negative ramifications of climate change in accordance with the UN COP26 summit’s resolutions.
He also praised support offered by COMESA member states to his country.
