CAIRO – Prince Charles of Wales lauded Egypt’s efforts to support women, pointing out to the passing of a law meant to protect females from violence, especially harassment incidents.

Prince Charles made the remarks as he chatted with Salma Medhat and Ahmed Hisham, the founders of an anti-harassment application called “Matkhafish” (Don’t be scared), which aims to support women psychologically and legally in cases of sexual harassment, as well as to help improve the State’s efforts in this field.

The conversation was held as part of the British heir-to-the-throne’s visit to the headquarters of the Greek Campus near Cairo’s Tahrir Square.
Prince Charles emphasized the importance of confronting all forms of violence and violations against women.
Meanwhile, he saluted the founders of Talents Arena platform that brings together software engineers and hiring companies.
In this regard, he noted that technology is shaping the future of the world, especially in the education field.
Prince Charles also praised the Flat6Labs initiative’s funding for Chefaa application that provides support to people suffering chronic diseases.

Flat6Labs fosters and invests in bright and passionate Egyptian entrepreneurs with cutting-edge ideas. It is currently running the most renowned startup programs in the region.
Earlier in the day, Prince Charles arrived at the Greek Campus, where he was received by Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad.
He attended an event held as part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, which includes young entrepreneurs.
He was briefed on the experiences of some entrepreneurs in carrying out innovative projects that help provide solutions to various challenges in the Egyptian society.
Prince Charles also held a meeting with representatives of some British companies to discuss their activities, especially in the fields of environment, supporting the adaptation to climate change, and raising people’s awareness in this regard.
