For the first time in Egypt since the 1950s, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the world-renowned maestro, Riccardo Muti, will perform in Egypt.

The concert will be held on November 20 and 21 at the brand new Concert Hall of the City of Arts & Culture in the New Administrative Capital.

The fabled orchestra will be performing a repertoire including Schubert, Stravinsky, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Mozart at one of the largest and most important new arts and culture complexes.

The new Concert Hall in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital’s Arts and Culture City has been purpose built to the highest global technical and artistic standards and will serve as a catalyst of Egypt’s focus on the importance of providing high quality musical experiences to Egyptian, regional and international audiences.

The Vienna Philharmonic was founded in 1842 and considered one of the world’s greatest orchestras, last performed in Egypt in 1950, selling out shows in Cairo and Alexandria.

During its two concerts in November, the orchestra will be conducted by the 80-year-old Italian conductor Muti, considered one of the most successful in the world, currently directing both the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini.

The performance at the new concert hall at the Administrative Capital’s Arts and Culture City follows successful events such as the Pharaoh’s Golden Parade, which took place earlier this year, and was witnessed by millions of admirers of ancient Egyptian history worldwide.
