Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for expanding vaccination campaigns for citizens and facilitating procedures for them to get vaccines, especially with the current abundance in the quantity and quality of anti-coronavirus vaccines in Egypt and the continuous flow of various global types.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting with Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the president followed up on the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic nationwide. He also reviewed the current measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus and vaccination campaigns.
The president also directed to maintain public awareness programmes regarding the precautionary measures to prevent infection, especially in places heavily frequented by citizens such as government departments, universities and schools.
The presidential advisor Tag el-Din highlighted in this context the state’s efforts to equip all medical facilities. He noted that there is an alternative plan for the places and hospitals that will be used to receive critical cases requiring intensive care and respirators.
He also stressed that the epidemiological situation in Egypt is under control even with the advent of winter and the relative increase in the number of cases as part of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
