Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Thursday witnessed virtually the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Electronics Research Institute of Egypt and the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology of China.
The protocol aims to increase cooperation between the two agencies in the transfer of technology.
Abdel Ghaffar praised cooperation between Egypt and China, which he described as a “strategic partner” to Egypt.
This is true to a large number of fields, especially in the electronics industry, the minister said, adding that Egypt is keen on this industry and increase its contribution to economic growth and the national income.
Abdel Ghaffar said his ministry has ambitious plans to cooperation with all countries in technology transfer.
He commended the efforts made by the Electronics Research Institute, including the latest protocol with the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology.
This protocol would open the way to many opportunities for junior researchers and enhance cooperation between the Road incubator of the Egyptian institute and the SIMIC Innospring incubator of the Chinese institute, the minister said.
The protocol also encourages the exchange visits by researchers and specialists from the two institutes, the minister added.
