President of the Egyptian Academy for Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) Mahmoud Sakr and President of the National Research Center Mohamed Mahmoud Hashem will inaugurate on Monday the innovative textile technology center, which is one of the most important outcomes of the national textile alliance funded by the Academy of Scientific Research.
In a statement on Saturday, Tamer Mostafa Hamouda, the chairman of the national textile alliance said this center will be the first of its kind in Egypt as a technological center specialised in high performance technical textiles and textile-reinforced composites.
The Academy of Scientific Research has launched a programme for establishing technological alliances, Hamouda said, adding that the program is the largest to link research bodies and universities with the industrial community and civil society organisations to help develop national products.
This programme depends on sound scientific methods based on the developed countries’ experiences to connect scientific research with industry, help produce new technologies and deepen local manufacturing, he noted.
