Victory Link, the leading Egyptian company in the field of digital and technological solutions, concluded the activities of Wahda Gedida “Arabic for New One” initiative with the honoring of a number of art and media stars, foremost among which were actresses Yousra and Laila Elwi and the brilliant broadcaster Mona El-Shazly. Social Solidarity Minister Nevine el-Kabbaj took part in the closing activity.
Launched as an annual event by the Victory Link to showcase the inspiring success stories for women, the “Wahda Gedida” initiative aims to make women’s voices be heard and shed light on issues of equality and women’s social and economic empowerment.
Engy El-Saban, CEO of Victory Link Company, expressed her happiness with the unprecedented success of the initiative in its first edition since its launch last March.
Launched in cooperation with the writer and scriptwriter Ahmed Murad, the initiative announced a competition for inspiring women’s stories. More than 3000 women participated in the competition, and that the jury chose at the end of the qualifiers 10 most inspiring stories that deserved to be supported and highlighted.
Writer Ahmed Murad commented: There is no competition between men and women; on the contrary, there is a state of integration between the roles of each other and that the “Wahda Gedida” initiative aims to build a natural road linking them for the benefit of society away from existing differences and challenges.
Ayman Essam, Head of External Relations and Legal Affairs Sector at Vodafone Egypt, expressed his happiness to participate in the event, saying: “ Wahda Gedida initiative is a new step for women’s empowerment and for shedding light on honorable combative models and also for paying attention to the stories of women who faced all challenges and obstacles to achieve the impossible”.
Noha Saad, Head of External Communications and Media at Vodafone Egypt, said she is proud of this honor and of her participation in the jury for a new initiative, which aims to present and honor the experiences of honorable models of women.
Eng. Moataz El-Sayed, CEO of “Khales” for e-payments, confirmed that “I was honored to take part in one new initiative and the Egyptian Women’s Forum, believing in that supporting women is not only a human right, but also an engine for prosperity.”
The jury included Ms Hala Hegazy, CEO and Managing Director of Nile Radio Productions Company, Mr Ayman Essam, Head of External Relations and Legal Affairs at Vodafone, Ms Noha Saad, Head of External Communications and Media at Vodafone, and Dr Mervat Abu Auf, former head of Journalism and Media Department at the AUC, and Ms Nora Orkhan, an expert in marketing, public relations and marketing communications.
