Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) in Egypt Abdel Moneim el Tarras on Sunday discussed at a meeting with Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte means of boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields of manufacturing, as well as training human cadres.

During the meeting, Tarras briefed the Indian diplomat on the AOI’s strategy for increasing local components and transferring modern technology in manufacturing.

The AOI looks forward to establishing partnerships with major Indian companies to localize modern technology, in addition to exchanging technical experience in different areas, Tarras said.

The two sides explored the possibility of opening up new horizons for cooperation in the sectors of defense industries, electronics, software, digital transformation, smart systems, smart meters, surveillance cameras, tablets, laptops, information systems, renewable energy, railways and metros.

They also examined how to enhance the competitive advantage of Egyptian and Indian products at the Arab and African markets.

On his part, the Indian ambassador said that India and Egypt have ideal opportunities to strengthen trade cooperation, especially as the two countries enjoy promising economic potentials and distinguished geographic location.

Gupte lauded Egypt’s interest in providing an attractive climate for investment to lure further foreign investments
