Egyptian Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarway announced handing over an fixed intermediate station for solid waste in Sharqiya at a total cost of EGP 31 million.
The step comes within the framework of a contract inked between the Ministry of Local Development and Environment Ministry to implement the projects of the first stage of new waste system infrastructure.
In a statement on Thursday, Shaarawy said his ministry continues following up all projects of infrastructure of the new waste system so that citizens can feel tangible improvement in the level of street cleanness as soon as possible.
Shaarawy received a report from the executive unit for waste management in the ministry on the station that covers 5,375 square meters.
