CAIRO – The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) released data that showed that the value of Egyptian imports from France increased by 19.2% in 2022, recording dlrs 2.2 billion increasing from dlrs 1.8 billion from the year before.
The CAPMAS report also showed that Egyptian exports to France increased by 61% in 2022, recording dlrs 1.8 billion increasing from dlrs 1.1 billion in 2021.
Trade exchange between Egypt and France reached dlrs 3.9 billion last year compared with dlrs 2.9 billion in 2021, which is a 35 percent increase, CAPMAS reported.
The report showed that the value of French investments in Egypt increased by 99.3 percent during the fiscal year 2021-2022, hitting dlrs 550.6 million against dlrs 276.2 million the year before.
Remittances from Egyptians working in France amounted to dlrs 120 million during the fiscal year 2021-2022, down from 126.1 the year before, which is a 4.8 percent decline. Remittances from French people working in Egypt declined by 22.5 percent during the fiscal year 2021-2022, recording dlrs 8.3 million, down from dlrs 10.7 million in the year before.
