Egypt’s Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi discussed Thursday with the UNESCO’s regional director Nuria Sanz vistas of cooperation between the ministry and UNESCO in a number of work files of mutual concern, according to a statement by the ministry.
Gendi welcomed cooperation with UNESCO to achieve goals of initiatives, with special focus on initiatives with cultural dimension while addressing the file of emigration, said the statement.
She added the ministry acted to implement several initiatives that aim to preserve national identity and consolidate the sense of belonging for Egyptian expats and connect them with their homeland.
Gendi talked about the ministry’s efforts in a number of files and initiatives of mutual concern.
In turn, Sanz said that UNESCO seeks to support the ministry’s efforts to preserve Egyptian identity and culture and Arabic language for expats.
