A regional conference aiming at exchanging expertise and best practices in combating illegal migration will kick off in the Red Sea governorate on Monday.
The three-day conference is organized by the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons.
The conference comes as part of the National Strategy for fighting illegal migration.
Representatives of 27 countries from Europe, Africa and North America as well international organizations concerned with fighting illegal migration are taking part in the event.
Naela Gabr, head of the national committee, told MENA that Egypt and the committee attach great importance to enhancing regional cooperation to fight illegal migration and human trafficking as they believe it is very difficult to combat them without regional cooperation and exchanging expertize in this score.
The conference aims at enhancing efforts of national bodies operating in fighting migration and protecting immigrants, especially unaccompanied children.
