Egypt follows up with interest and concern the developments of the situation in Niger, stressing the importance of dialogue to reach a peaceful settlement of the crisis in a manner that guarantees the maintenance of the security and safety of the state of Niger and its people.
In a statement released today, Foreign Ministry spokesman affirmed Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at defusing the crisis in a way that preserves the democratic system, sovereignty and stability of Niger in consistent with the rules of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of the African Union and prevents any escalation that may destabilise the security and stability of the region.
