The Coptic Evangelical Organisation for Social Services, a member entity of the National Alliance for Civil Work for Development (NACWD), has launched a medical convoy to treat eye diseases and dispense spectacles for 105 beneficiaries of people of determination in Ezbet Khairallah of southern Cairo.
This is part of the NACWD efforts to offer services to the most deserving and vulnerable groups across the nation, according to an NACWD press release.
In addition, the NACWD’s Raie Misr Organisation also launched medical convoys with various specialisations for examination, follow-up and free treatment of the people of in Qus, Qena, and in al-Sarraj village near Edfu, Aswan.
In the Giza Governorate, Cairo University, in co-operation with the Foundation for a Decent Life, launched a five-day comprehensive development convoy for the people in Barnasht village.
The convoy offered physiotherapy, dentistry, veterinary medicine and nursing. Detected diseases were treated free of charge. Critical cases were referred to the Cairo University hospitals.
The convoy also comprised awareness programmes and workshops to teach handicrafts. The convoy also featured a large singing concert that was attended by the villagers.
In Gharbiya Governorate, the NACWD’s Orman Charitable Association organised an exhibition for home furnishings and electrical appliances for the people in several villages.
The alliance was launched in March 2022 with the participation of members of key development and civil work associations in Egypt to serve social development work.
It integrates its work with the efforts being exerted by the state and the private sector to realise social development and upgrade services. It plays a pivotal role in the development and supports social protection.
