Egypt’s Social Solidarity Minister Nivine Kabbag said the Women’s Economic and Social Empowerment Program – funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) – aims at supporting women in various sectors.
She made the remarks on Saturday during a meeting with representatives of USAID and the Pathfinder International.
The talks tackled means of promoting cooperation between the program and the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The program aims at enhancing employment programs of the ministry, especially programs for most vulnerable people and participants in Forsa and Takaful programs.
The program is being implemented in seven governorates; Giza, Cairo, Beheira, Menya, Assiut, Sohag and Qena.
The talks reviewed plans for expanding financial inclusion for women.
Meanwhile, USAID representatives and the program’s action team thanked the Social Solidarity Ministry for rallying up efforts to reach positive outcomes.
They stressed keenness to further cooperation with the ministry in the coming period.
