Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag held a press conference to announce the details of the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s campaign ‘We will reach you’ to issue one million additional integrated services cards by the end of January 2024 for people with disabilities nationwide.
The press conference was attended by Mohsen Al-Numani, President of the Life-Makers Egypt Association.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity aims to facilitate the issue of the integrated services card for persons with disabilities and their families.
El-Qabbag said her ministry is working with the governors and civil associations, Life Makers Egypt Foundation and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to reach people with disabilities.
Five thousand 5,000 volunteers have been recruited to reach out to people with disabilities, knock on doors and conduct a survey of disability cases, make home visits, and raise awareness of the importance and benefits of the Integrated Services Card, and the documents needed by law.
The ministry will also bear the expenses of examination of people with severe and severe disabilities in the areas where the campaign will be staged while raising awareness of medium and minor disabilities of procedures to register with the Ministry of Health and Population system and obtain the card.
El-Qabbag announced the experimental phase at the beginning of this August, in Cairo, Giza, Qalyoubia, Alexandria, Menoufia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Dakahlia, Kafr el-Sheikh, North Sinai, Ismailia, Suez, Qena and Sohag. The scope of the campain will be expanded to cover all areas nationwide.
