Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Tuesday Egypt’s pride in its close historical ties with Serbia and highlighted Egypt’s keenness to enhance bilateral co-operation in all fields, including defence and to activate the partnership between the two countries.

The President’s remarks came as he received on Tuesday Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević in the presence of Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki.

For his part, the Serbian deputy prime minister conveyed the Serbian President’s greetings and appreciation to President Sisi, praising the depth of the Egyptian-Serbian relations, especially in light of the President’s visit to Serbia in July 2022.

He also appreciated the growth and effectiveness of the Egyptian presence on the regional and international arenas under the leadership of President Sisi as well as Egypt’s relentless efforts to combat terrorism at the regional level and its support for stability, security and development, noting in this context the steady development proceess and urban development taking place in Egypt.

The meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral relations and boost military and security co-operation between the two countries, in addition to discussing international issues of common concern, especially the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its geopolitical and economic repercussions globally.
