During a meeting late on Sunday with GEM’s board of directors at the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Minister Issa added that foreign tourism in Egypt witnessed a boom over the first 6 months of 2023.

The minister reviewed the positive indicators of incoming tourism over the six-month period, namely increasing in the number of visitors and tourist nights, in addition to a diversity of the source markets, marking a rise of 44 per cent compared to last year.

“This is the highest rate of inbound tourism compared to the first half of 2010, ” the minister said.

It highlights the success of the strategy adopted by the ministry’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, to develop the industry, after the state upgraded efficiency of the tourist infrastructure, to improve the tourist experience in Egypt, in light of the increasing demand to visit Egypt.
