Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri on Sunday spoke via phone with newly-appointed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to express willingness to joint action, in order to maintain the development path of bilateral relations and restore them on the right track.
Shoukri congratulated Fidan on his appointment and extended wishes of success in his duties, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid.
They discussed files of bilateral cooperation, exchanging visits at all levels as well as issues of common concern, according to the spokesman.
Meanwhile, the Turkish foreign minister thanked Shoukri for his phone call, asserting the significance of giving impetus to efforts meant to fully restore relations among the two countries, the spokesman noted.
Also, Fidan welcomed communication with Shoukri on co-operation towards enhancing understanding and mutual interests of both the Egyptian and Turkish peoples, the spokesman added.
