CAIRO – Egypt welcomes efforts exerted by the “6+6” committee meant to outline laws on Libyan presidential and parliamentary elections, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said Friday.
The committee is formed of the Libyan council of representatives and state council.
The Foreign Ministry also voiced appreciation for Morocco, which is hosting the current activities of the committee.
Egypt encourages the committee to exert utmost efforts to be able to hold the elections as soon as possible and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people, the statement added.
It urged all Libyan factions to support those efforts to be able to restore stability in the Arab country.
