Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman Osama Rabie said oil tanker SEAVIGOUR transited the Suez Canal after fixing it to proceed with its journey to China.
In a statement on Tuesday, Rabie said a SCA committee report underlined that the tanker was fixed and fit for navigation.
He underlined that the Suez Canal had technical and human potentials to deal with any emergency in the canal.
Rabie said that 72 ships crossed the waterway in the two directions on Monday, carrying a total cargo of 4.3 million tonnes.
The north-bound convoy included 41 vessels carrying 2.3 million tonnes, while the south-bound one included 31 ships with a cargo weighing 2 million tonnes.
