Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Salaheldin Moustafa attended on Wednesday the signing of an agreement between Helwan Company for Metallic Appliances (Factory 360) and Japan’s MIZUHA Co.,Ltd to manufacture a prototype of “KuSui” device that generates water from the air using state-of-the-art technology developed by the Japanese firm.
The minister said that the agreement falls within the framework of the cooperation protocol that was signed between the Military Production Ministry and MIZUHA to test and develop the water-producing device from air “KUSui” in the military production facilities.
The water produced from the device has obtained the approval of the Health and Population Ministry, the minister further noted.
He added that this device was produced in the light of genuine efforts made over a period that extended for more than one year, during which the device went through several tests in Egypt to ensure that it will be suitable for hot weather, particularly in North African countries, which differ from the atmosphere in Japan.
Originally produced by MIZUHA, KuSui, named after the Japanese words for “air” and “water,” is a water cooler that directly liquefies water vapor in the atmosphere into drinking water using an ion exchange system and carbon filters to sterilize the water, according to the company’s website.
