MILAN — Bottom club Sampdoria was relegated from Serie A following a 2-0 loss at Udinese.
Two first-half goals condemned Sampdoria, which was left 13 points from safety with four rounds remaining.
Spezia and Cremonese are the other teams in the relegation zone and they are three and six points, respectively, behind 17th-placed Hellas Verona.
Sampdoria has won just two matches since the start of the year and travelled to Udine on the back of two straight losses without scoring.
Udinese took the lead in the ninth minute. Festy Ebosele ran almost the entire length of the field before sending the ball through to Roberto Pereyra, who lifted it above onrushing goalkeeper Nicola Ravaglia.
Adam Masina doubled Udinese´s lead in the 34th when he headed a chipped pass from Sandi Lovri´c into the bottom left corner.

Elsewhere, newly-crowned champions Napoli secured a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in Serie A when the league’s top scorer Victor Osimhen scored from the spot at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen could have put a relaxed Napoli in front from a penalty three minutes into the second half but Fiorentina keeper Pietro Terracciano saved his weak shot.
The Nigerian striker got a chance to redeem himself when winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia won another penalty for Napoli in the 74th minute and Osimhen put the ball past Terracciano with a much stronger shot.
Fiorentina, who host Basel in the first-leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday, remain eighth on 46 points, 12 points behind Roma in seventh and Atalanta in sixth with four games left in the season.
Napoli wrapped up their first league title in 33 years on Thursday when a 1-1 draw at Udinese put them out of reach of their rivals for the Scudetto.
