On the occasion of Sinai Liberation Day, which was celebrated on Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced the Citizen Investment Plan for North and South of Sinai for fiscal year 2022-2023.
Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al-Saeed said that in order to achieve balance in regional development, regarded as one of the foundations on of Egypt Vision 2030, efforts have been intensified to attain sustainable development goals across the nation.
The objectives of all state-sponsored development plans are to improve living standards, the minister said.
“But this will not be achieved without active community participation in line with Egypt Vision 2030,” the minister added.
As for the Citizen Investment Plan for North Sinai Governorate for fiscal year 2022-2023, the minister said in a report 152 development projects are underway in the governorate to which LE7.9 billion has been allocated.
In South Sinai Governorate, some 208 projects costing LE9.2 billion are in progress, el-Saeed said.
Transport in North Sinai Governorate received LE2.5 billion for 2022-2023, followed by housing and slum development at LE2.3 billion, water resources and irrigation, LE1.1 million, higher education and scientific research, LE225.4 million, local development, LE1.1 billion and LE675 million to other sectors.
South Sinai Governorate received LE2.5 billion for local development sector, followed by housing with LE 2billion, higher education, LE1.9 billion, health, LE593.8 million, agriculture, LE509.6 million and LE1.7 million to other sectors, the report said.
