WASHINGTON – A US military ship is sailing toward the Middle East, carrying equipment to build a temporary pier off the coast of Gaza.
The support ship, General Frank S Besson, set sail from a military base in the state of Virginia, CENTCOM said on its ”X” account.
The General Frank S. Besson left Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia “less than 36 hours after President [Joe] Biden announced the US would provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza by sea,” it added.
