WASHINGON – The US has condemned the attack launched by the Houthis in Yemen on two civilian cargo ships in the Red Sea resulting in the deaths of three sailors and injury of others along with complete destruction of the vessel “MV True Confidence” and its cargo.In a statement published by the State Department Wednesday, US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said, that the attack on the ships “MV True Confidence” and “MV Eternity C” is an “unjustified act of terrorism.”
The spokesperson said, the incident highlights the ongoing threat posed by the Houthis to freedom of navigation, as well as maritime and economic security in the region.Bruce added that the US would continue to take necessary measures to protect freedom of navigation and the safety of commercial shipping from Houthi attacks, calling on the international community to condemn these assaults.
