DEAD SEA – Director of Communications of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Juliette Touma has called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to help the agency do its job.
Touma confirmed in statements to Alhurra channel the necessity of supporting UNRWA to bring back more than 600,000 children, who were deprived of education.
She said there is dire need of exerting more efforts to reach the implementation of the ceasefire deal, that was approved by the international Security Council.
Touma’s remarks followed a Gaza Emergency Humanitarian Response Conference.
The conference wrapped up proceedings in the Dead Sea area on Tuesday, with all participants stressing the need of stopping the Israeli war and allowing the entry of humanitarian assistance into the war-torn enclave.
