NEW YORK – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said the Gaza Strip faces the threat of famine confirming that there are actual indicators of an existing famine that directly affects children under the age of five.
In a statement carried out by Alhurra Sunday the UNICEF said, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is the only way to avoid the risk of famine, stressing that Gaza faces a severe shortage of food, as food security affects the lives of all children.
The UNICEF said more than 300,000 people in the Gaza Strip are at risk of acute malnutrition and death, according to the statement.
