CAIRO – The United Nations General Assembly has approved establishing an office for youth.
The Foreign Ministry said the approval came after coordination that lasted for two months with the participation of Egypt and Guyana’s permanent envoys to the UN in New York.
Osama Abdel Khaleq, Egypt’s permanent envoy to the UN, said such an approval reflects the UN member states’ keenness on boosting the youth agenda of the organization.
He thanked the UN over naming Egypt as a mutual facilitator for establishing the office, reflecting Egypt’s important role as regards youth empowerment.
