CAIRO – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Gasser el Shahed, an Egyptian, as a member in the Panel of Experts on Yemen.
The panel provides essential support to the Sanctions Committee which is comprised of UN Security Council members.
The committee was established pursuant to Security Council Resolution 2140 issued in 2014, and is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the sanctions measures.
